Playground Films promotes ‘Pimped’ with new marketing innovation ‘All The Liars I’ve Loved’

David Barker’s noir inspired psychological thriller Pimped, concerning a woman with identity issues and the two men who take advantage of her over one night, is out now in select cinemas nationally.

Ella Scott Lynch (Love Child, Underbelly) gives a truly magnificent turn as the conflicted femme fatal, alongside local thespian making it in LA, Benedict Samuel (Walking Dead, Gotham, Beautiful Lies). And the taut thriller has been receiving acclaim from audiences and critics alike.

“A stylish subversive treat…a bon-bon spiked with ground glass.” – Erin Free, FilmInk.

In an innovative marketing first, ‘All The Liars I’ve Loved’ was created to facilitate engagement with Pimped’s audiences, while remaining true to the themes of the film. The wall is an insightful experience – creative, cathartic and voyeuristic – allowing users to vent and share personal stories of betrayal, or lost love, via user-generated image posts and written messages; which can then be shared on social media channels Facebook and Twitter.

Australian indies are having a difficult time in a busy market, competing with international players who have deep wallets, Playground and distributor Bonsai Films knew they needed to create an authentic experience for younger progressive audiences, spending most of their time online, who could engage and share their own stories that deal with the sometimes hellfire terrain of dating. Ultimately, discovering the film through amplified press behind the wall’s release, and realising a desire to express their stress.
