Oppo goes to Antarctica with National Geographic and cinematographer/director Dave May

Uncover Antarctica is a global campaign for National Geographic and smartphone manufacturer Oppo that has just launched in Australia. The project saw National Geographic photographer Michaela Skovranova and cinematographer/director Dave May travel to Antarctica in order to document Michaela’s experience capturing incredible imagery on the new Oppo Find X2 Pro.

Says May: “It was an amazing experience to shoot in Antarctica and also to work with a brand like Oppo who were invested in creating partner content that audiences would recognise as authentic. Michaela has an incredible eye and so much passion for what she does so it’s been great see people respond to her work. Also it turns out we threaded the needle with our late February departure and so feel incredibly grateful to have been able to make it all happen.”

The campaign includes a 4 minute short documentary that’s debuted on National Geographic YouTube to its 14 million subscribers and a series of Instagram videos that went live late last week on the Nat Geo Travel Instagram (38 million followers). A series of feature specific videos and digital assets was also created for use as online, pre-roll and in-store advertising.

The full collection of the content for the campaign including additional videos and articles can be found on the National Geographic website here: https://www.nationalgeographic.com/uncover-antarctica/
