Toybox_gameplay2.jpgFormer GPY&R Melbourne digital creative Julian Frost and Sam Baird of Millipede Creative Development today launched their ‘Toybox’ iPhone game.

Frost, the digital art director behind campaigns for Schweppes, Cadbury, Defence Force Recruiting etc, has taken the leap into game development with Sam Baird, programmer of games for Cadbury, Coles, Tennis Australia, VicRoads, and more.

Says Frost: “We had no client, no budget, just a quirky game idea. Could we give Toybox the depth and polish to stand up as a pure entertainment product? That’s the holy grail of ‘digital content’, right?”

Toybox is two simple friendly games woven together into a surprisingly deep one. Your left thumb plays a simple space invaders game, while your right thumb plays a match 3 game at the same time. Get the hang of both together and rack up high scores on a new unique level every week.

Says Frost: “If people like it, fantastic. If not, er, anyone need any banners?”
