MADC + One Club Portfolio Night offers ultimate trip to NYC; tickets on sale now

Getting a proverbial foot in the door of an agency often sees creative hopefuls go to some weird (seldom wonderful) lengths to gain the attention of CDs and ECDs. ‘I’m happy to start at the bottom’ toilet roll direct mail, anyone?

 

Thankfully, MADC and The One Club for Creativity have partnered to create a more direct way of getting your name – and your book – in front of Melbourne creative leaders: Portfolio Night 2019. The world’s most respected folio review program is offering the ultimate prize: an all expenses paid trip to creative sister city, New York.

United by the shared goal of promoting and supporting creativity in advertising, MADC and One Club will launch the Portfolio Night global calendar on May 22, hosted by event partner Hell Studios. Run simultaneously in 70 cities across the globe, aspiring young advertising copywriters, art directors and designers will meet with renowned advertising creative directors in a fast-paced evening of advice, networking and potential recruitment.

Says Adrian Bosich, president, MADC: “This is a big coup – the product of extensive planning and collaboration between One Club global chief growth officer, Tony Gulisano, One Club’s Australian board representative Pat Baron, and the MADC committee. There’s no better way for tomorrow’s leaders to get their work in front of the industry’s finest. And for today’s leaders to ‘send the lift back down’ to bring up the next generation.”

Says Andrew Woodhead, CD, McCann Melbourne: “Fostering the industry’s next generation of creative thinkers is something McCann is very passionate about, so we relished the opportunity to work with MADC and the One Show to promote the 2019 Portfolio Night. Most CDs and ECDs have been on the receiving end of some rather unusual attempts to get their attention. We wanted to encourage students to concentrate their creative energies on showcasing their best ideas, on a night they are sure to get noticed.”
