Lb sAdFest has launched the first Young Lotus Marketer Workshop to be hosted in 2013 by Leo Burnett Asia Pacific.

Designed specifically for young marketing talents working within a client organization, this workshop takes place simultaneously with the 9th Young Lotus Creative Workshop for young advertising professionals.

The Young Lotus Marketer Workshop is ideal for advertising managers, brand managers, business development managers, communications managers, marketing managers, media managers or sales managers, and is designed to help them develop more effective, creative brand campaigns.

Saurabh Varma (pictured), Chief Strategy Officer, Leo Burnett Asia Pacific, will chair this year’s Young Lotus Marketer Workshop.

“We have lined up a comprehensive series of sessions which will be led by managing directors, strategists and creative leaders. To add balance to the workshop, we are inviting seasoned marketers, who are also our clients, to share their experiences and best practices which will be hugely relevant for the young marketers,” says Varma.

Jarek Ziebinski, President, Leo Burnett Asia Pacific says,” Young talents represent the future of our business and at Leo Burnett, it has been an on-going focus for us to invest our time, effort and money in nurturing the future stars for our industry. The Young Lotus Marketer Workshop represents the first step for us in taking this commitment further to include the young marketers. We are excited to have the opportunity to partner with AdFest to play a part in shaping the future of marketing communications.”

Vinit Suraphongchai, Chairman of the AdFest Working Committee, added, “Nine years ago, AdFest launched the Young Lotus Creative Workshop, which is now a recognized career-launching platform for young creatives. Since then we’ve realized there are very few opportunities for young marketers to practice the art of developing briefs that lead to award-winning, effective work.”

The Young Lotus Marketer Workshop will be held on 14th-16th March 2013 at the Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall (PEACH) of the Royal Cliff Hotels Group in Thailand.

“By supporting the next generation of young marketers, we are also supporting the future of our industry: great advertising always begins with talented marketers and insightful briefs,” says Jimmy Lam, President of AdFest.

The Workshop will be facilitated by a select group of “trainers” from Leo Burnett. It begins with a series of lectures, followed by an assignment to be completed within 24 hours: create and present a 2-page written brief, which will be judged by the Young Lotus Marketer Committee.

The finalists will present their brief on stage at AdFest during the Young Lotus Marketer Session, when delegates at AdFest will have the chance to vote for the ‘Popular Vote’ winner. All winners will be announced at the Young Lotus Award Presentation at AdFest, which runs from 17th-19th March in Pattaya, Thailand.

Participants must be 28 years of age or under, and will be selected by each local marketing association or representative to represent each market at AdFest’s first Young Lotus Marketer Workshop.
