Australia’s largest construction company John Holland is urging all workers across the country to get vaccinated to keep the industry strong in a new campaign developed by creative video agency hellofuture.tv.

The building, infrastructure and rail contractor will launch its “Let’s get the jab done” campaign to encourage staff, subcontractors and suppliers to book their vaccinations.

John Holland CEO Joe Barr said the industry had a responsibility to the community to ensure construction sites remain safe: “This year saw the first major shutdown of the industry as a result of the pandemic, and there is no doubt lockdowns and added restrictions have affected projects across the country.

“While I am confident our sites continue to operate safely, our people and our communities deserve certainty.

“We all need to step up and do our part to get the jab done, so we can all get the job done.

“High vaccination rates will save lives and save jobs across Australia. More vaccinations in arms means we can minimise the threat of snap industry closures and focus on delivering the major infrastructure projects our community needs.

“Infrastructure will be central to Australia’s economic recovery and it’s up to all of us who work in the industry to do our part to keep our communities safe.”

hellofuture.tv developed and produced the campaign and strategy.

Founder Emily Bull said the first stage of the campaign will aim to drive up vaccination rates while the second stage will encourage perception change of vaccines as just another form of PPE: “Get the jab done to get the job done is part of a larger strategic vaccination campaign that we are working on with John Holland. In this initial video and print activation, we are speaking to an audience who are considering but haven’t booked their jab. Its purpose is to drive immediate action.

“It was such a privilege to create a campaign for John Holland for positive change, a campaign that will have an effect on Australian lives and jobs, ultimately influencing behaviours and driving higher vaccination outcomes.”

The Australian construction sector employs one in ten Australians, and is vital to the economy. John Holland directly employs more than 5,000 Australians, and in 2020 spent $4.9 billion with Australian suppliers.
