Jimmy Brings concocts ‘2020 in a Can’ to toast the year goodbye in new campaign via R/GA

This year has been hard to swallow, so R/GA Australia and Jimmy Brings have partnered to create a drink with a mix of signature “2020 ingredients” to say good riddance to a crazy year.

Together with the equally clever mixologists at Brewtopia, they’ve concocted a 2020 flavour out of a bunch of hideous things that bombed in research, see for yourself. For a limited time customers can get their hands on an exclusive run of 2,020 disgusting-tasting brews that go down just like 2020 did – horribly.

Some of Australia’s favourite influencers and personalities including the likes of Sophie Monk, Matt Okine, Will Sparks, DJ Tigerlily and Daniel Gorringe will also be sharing their own ‘goodbye 2020’ content by toasting to the ups and downs of the year.

Says Michael Titshall, VP, managing director, R/GA Australia: “We asked ourselves, ‘if 2020 was a drink, what would it taste like?’. Think stale breath from too much face-mask wearing, foamy hand sanitizer, and a salty aftertaste that lingers.”

Says Jamie Gagliardi, head of marketing, Jimmy Brings: “We tried and tested all sorts of horrible flavours – sourdough starter, olive brine, black jelly beans, toothpaste – and have landed on a drink that we think commemorates the year we’ve all endured.

“We’ve come together as Australians to battle 2020, letting go of all our differences. It just made sense to have one last send off as a nation, and toast 2020 goodbye. Jimmy, of course, is the perfect guy to bring it.

“It won’t go down easy. But, you know, that’s 2020. The question is: can you handle it?”

To bring light to the end of 2020 and help one brave soul kickstart their 2021, Jimmy Brings is offering up a $2021 VISA Card and free delivery through 2021 if they can drink the whole 2020 concoction, film it, and share it on Instagram with #toast2020goodbye and @jimmybrings.

Customers can receive ‘2020 in a can’ for free with any order over $20 – available on the Jimmy Brings app or online via www.jimmybrings.com.au/2020inacan.
