Hardhat enlists former Clemenger BBDO GM Sarah Tukua for client services director role

Creative agency Hardhat has bolstered its leadership team with the addition of Sarah Tukua. Tukua was most recently a general manager at Clemenger BBDO Melbourne running Ford and SEEK Limited. Tukua will be leading Hardhat’s client services team and heading up accounts including Tigerair, Lion Dairy & Drinks and Zip (Zip Money and Zip Pay).

Tukua’s appointment comes off the back of the promotion of Issy Bonin to general manager, the addition of Glenn Dalton as executive creative director and Lani Cush as strategy lead, all within the past 12 months. Before Clemenger, Tukua spent almost five years at AJF Partnership; she spent her formative years in the US working on some of America’s iconic brands including Subaru of America at renowned agency Carmichael Lynch.

Says Justin Kabbani, co-founder and managing director, Hardhat: “Sarah has an amazing reputation with her past clients and has created an instant rapport with Hardhat’s clients. Her passion for the craft of client service is unmatched, as is the depth of experience she brings across a number of market sectors, including those in our sights like automotive. With the addition of Sarah, we’ve rounded out our incredibly talented leadership team, giving us the perfect platform to continue driving the work, the client relationships and the agency forward.”

Said Tukua: “There’s magic in what Justin and Dan have built. They’ve done a remarkable job integrating a native digital agency into a next generation creative agency. It’s an honour to join the Hardhat team, and I very much look forward to defining what the future of advertising looks like with our incredibly lovely and talented team.”

Hardhat was founded in 2005 by Dan Monheit and Justin Kabbani. The agency, now 40 strong, builds brands through a combination of creativity and behavioural insights. Hardhat clients include Tigerair, Bupa, Deakin University, Tennis Australia and Steggles.
