Google appoints Emotive as creative agency for Google TV and launches new content series
Google has appointed independent creative agency Emotive to lead its campaign work for Google TV.
The partnership commences with a content series Watch With Me, featuring Margaret Pomeranz and Adam Goodes and made specifically for the Google TV interface. The series taps into the truth that we’re always on the lookout for the next thing to watch and sees Margaret and Adam share watchlists of their top film and TV picks with one another via Google TV. It runs alongside the global 30” TVC executions showcasing the vast array of content from the different streaming services conveniently available and organised via Google TV.
Google TV is an exciting new way to stream, grouping television shows and films from the myriad of different streaming services into one menu, personalised for you, making accessing your favourite titles and content easier than ever. No more switching between services like Netflix, Stan, and Disney+ to find that show you want to watch.
Says Cameron Luby, marketing director, Google: “We are so excited to be extending our partnership with Emotive. Google TV has been incredibly well received in Australia and we see this partnership as the beginning of a much larger effort.”
Says Simon Joyce, CEO/founder, Emotive: “We’re building a wonderful relationship with the Google team and are absolutely thrilled to be working with them on Google TV. As we’ve come to expect, the product is truly innovative, and we are looking forward to pushing the boundaries creatively as we bring Google TV to the mainstream.

Adam Goodes is my hero, but this sucked so bad even he couldn’t make me watch it. I still love you Adam xox
these are so boring and half the shows been and done by now.
There’s nothing in the idea of two people sharing a watchlist and using a pair of celebs isn’t going to change that.
Not sure the agency matters, you really have to give up on creativity as Google makes interesting things boring in advertising.
Play Stranger Things on the TV has got to be one of the most boring product demo TV ads I’ve ever seen. This stuff is similar crap along with the Launch for this featuring a TV screen and pseudo triumphant music – what’s with such shitty ads?
Remember when Google did cool stuff like those speed tests.
They have no excuse not to be excellent marketers.
They’re creative offering is counter to their progressive products
Google never do well in traditional advertising, well not here anyway, they’re much better when they do innovative activations etc.
