Entries now open for the Snapchat Young Lions Competition Australia; deadline 5pm, 13 March

The search for the best young media, creative and marketing professionals has begun again as the Cannes Lions Festival has announced today that entries are now officially open for the 2020 Snapchat Young Lions Competition.

The competition gives the opportunity for up and coming talent to represent Australia at the 2020 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, with entries open to four of the seven Young Lions categories including Film, Media, Digital and Marketer.

All submissions will be assessed by a team of over 60 high profile industry judges, with five teams shortlisted in each category. These finalists will then be required to take part in a second round of judging for a non-profit partner where they will be briefed and have to present a response 24 hours later. Film finalists are given 48 hours and are not required to present live.

Snapchat has returned as this year’s naming rights and digital category sponsor.

Says Kathryn Carter, general manager for Snap Inc. Australia and New Zealand: “As a brand and a platform, Snapchat is committed to creativity and innovation – we are excited to be partnering again with this auspicious program. We look forward to seeing what the next generation of creatives bring to the table.”

The media category is jointly sponsored by The Trade Desk and Unilever, the marketing category is sponsored by The Real Media Collective and UnLtd and Dolly’s Dream have partnered with the competition for the Film category first round.

Royalty-free stock photo and video agency Stocksy are the official stock imagery partner for the competition and Creative Products Enterprise are supporting the winners with branded Young Lions Australia merchandise.

Winners of the second and final round go on to represent Australia in the 67th edition of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity from 22-26 June, 2020.

Entries for the first round of the Young Lions competition close 17.00 AEST, 13 March 2020 and are open to teams of two who meet the category criteria and are under the age of 30. Registration costs $249 +GST for a team of two.
