Riddled with clichés and familiar if competent techniques. Nothing special.
Potentially it’s a reminder that good, powerful stories will always matter.
No original techniques…who cares! Stories should be told in ways that service the story, not in service to originality.
Side note. The word ‘envy-inspiring’ in the award description makes me want to vomit. While this might be something (in other people’s minds) that comes as a result of the work, it should not be something we aspire to. Just tell the story that needs to be told and feel humbled that it connected with other people.
