Exclusive: after a decade at Clems Melbourne CD Damian Royce rolls into Whybin\TBWA\Tequila


Screen shot 2011-05-31 at 1.19.24 PM.jpgCB Exclusive – CB can reveal that Clemenger BBDO, Melbourne’s much awarded digital-based creative director Damian Royce has resigned and is heading to Whybin\TBWA\Tequila, Melbourne in a similar capacity.

Melbourne-based, Royce joined Clemenger’s digital arm Proximity Sydney as CD in 2001 and in 2005 was appointed CD of Clemenger Blue Digital in Melbourne. In 2008 Clemenger Blue was integrated into Clemenger BBDO and Royce was appointed a mainstream CD, working across all advertising mediums, while still nurturing the digital conscience of the agency.

 In the same year he was appointed to the leadership board.

The move to Whybin’s comes two months after the agency picked up the massive ANZ business in a shoot-out with DDB.

Royce’s work has been recognised at One Show Interactive, London International Awards, D&AD, New York Festivals, AWARD, Caples, MADC and more. Most notably, Damian’s interactive work has also received Gold at Cannes.


Royce has been a judge at Cannes Lions, New York Festivals, London International Awards, Dubai Lynx, AWARD, South by Southwest (USA) and the Interactive Panel Chair for the Australian Direct Marketing Awards (ADMA).
