Creative curators Short Term Girlfriend celebrates two years with revamped offering

Short Term Girlfriend (STGF) is celebrating two years in business with the launch of a new website acknowledging its growth and new creative direction as a bespoke talent recruitment agency.

The new look website centers on STGF’s dedication to finding the best freelance talent fit for clients and their creative projects. Designed by creative director Kristen Doyle at Killanoodle, the site features illustrations by Mahalia Rose-Larkin and copywriting by Marrianne Little.

According to founder Samantha Simpson, STGF cares about the cultural and creative fit as much as the skillset of its creative talent.

Says Simpson: “We look at how people want to be engaged and what makes or breaks a creative team in the current workspace. Our process is very personalised, hands-on and brief driven. We take the time to get to know our clients’ needs and understand their company culture to offer up the very best in trusted people and not just a handful of CVs to filter through.”

Says Mel Reardon, head of talent and operations, STGF: “Having many conversations with agency heads of talent acquisition and creative operations directors, it’s clear to see the structure of the advertising industry post pandemic has changed and our model really fits into that – we support companies as their hybrid workplaces expand and contract.

“Coming from the production world, both Sammy and I understand our clients’ needs. We’ve also seen an increase in freelance creative talent taking note on how we operate differently and wanting to join. We care about their values and what motivates them, and match them with the right clients and projects.

“We believe the future is freelance: fluid and centered on the right fit.”

STGF’s focus is split across primarily freelance but also regular fulltime recruitment to creative agencies along with production companies.

STGF has recently recruited talent in freelance or fulltime roles for The Monkeys, VCCP, 303 Mullen Lowe, AnalogFolk, The General Store, Apparent, Six Black Pens, Canva, Chello, Electric Art and Akcelo.

Production wise, STGF has worked on an array of creative projects this year, including ING with Ogilvy and Betfair via Bear Meets Eagle on Fire. The agency also assisted We Are Social for Topo Chico + DiDi, collaborated with Six Black Pens on NAB, and also produced a TKD product launch for Bunnings.
