One of Australia’s leading independent brand and content agencies, Chello, is storming into the new financial year with new hires across creative, strategy, production and client services.

David Coupland joins as strategy director from The Haus (formerly Hausmann Group), with over 12 years of experience spanning the UK and Australia.

Says Coupland: “I’ve been a big admirer of Chello and their commitment to brand storytelling for some time now, and I am so excited to be joining this team. The role of ‘brand’ has never been more meaningful in people’s lives, and Chello understand that more than anyone.”

Coupland is joined by Toby McCasker, senior copywriter, formerly of Dan Murphy’s, Mark Kilroy, senior motion designer formerly of the Sydney Opera House, Lauren Barrett, production assistant and Drou Angelides, senior account manager formerly of Smack Bang Designs.

Says Tristan Velasco, co-founder and creative director, Chello: “Chello is continually investing in finding and retaining great people; talented team-players who reflect our values as an agency. The whole team is already feeling the energy from our new additions.”

These hires come off the back of extended remits from Chello’s existing clients, as well as multiple new business wins in recent months. Chello is the retained agency of record for Shopify Asia Pacific, Raine & Horne, LIV by Mirvac and Qudos Bank, amongst others.

Says Lindsay Rogers, managing director, Chello: “It’s an exciting time to be an independent agency, bridging the gap between brand and content, and talented storytellers are our biggest asset.”
