CD and author Tony Hardy and Production Alley launch new ad podcast ’20 Minutes to Nowhere’

We’re in the age of the podcast, yet shows about Australian advertising people, their lives and work are rare. Creative director and author Tony Hardy has teamed with Rodney Lowe and Les Molnar of Production Alley studios to create the podcast 20 Minutes to Nowhere.

Says Hardy: “A lot of people find themselves working in advertising because we don’t fit anywhere else. They are unique, clever human beings, and often their best version of themselves, their best stories, happen away from work.”

This new podcast is no shallow pump-up or opportunity to raise the profile of the guests, who are drawn from all areas of the industry.

The overall point of the show is to celebrate creative people and their unique view. The early eps feature ECDs, a VO artist, a Cannes Lions Award judge, and an art director touring Europe as lead singer of a hugely popular hard rock band.

Says Hardy: “It’s humbling and a real privilege for us. We get to switch on the mic, have lunch and listen to people’s stories.”

Also launching is McFeast & Malthouse: The Coaches Box. Just in time for the finals, this alternative footy podcast is the one that had to be made. Libbi Gorr uses the sassiness of her McFeast character to lure AFL coaching legend and Hall of Famer Mick Malthouse into chats about everything. Malthouse & McFeast: The Coaches Box offers refreshing conversations between a woman and man of different generations and opinons. But it’s not about wonky knees and stats. In The Coaches Box, Elle and Mick get stuck into people and leadership, all while desperately trying to understand each other.
