Brisbane to celebrate creative excellence at the 2019 BADC Awards next Saturday, October 26

The Brisbane Advertising and Design Club is gearing up for its annual BADC Awards Night being held on Saturday October 26th at Brisbane’s newest and most exciting venue – Howard’s Hall at Howard Smith Wharves.

With a new president, exciting new sponsors and a raft of amazing award entries, Brisbane’s advertising and creative community will again come together to showcase and celebrate the best in creative and marketing campaigns from a quality field of 640 entries over 90 categories.

The main award of the evening will once again be the Best of Show which last year was won by Brisbane agency BCM for their Safe DriVR App.

Says Stuart Myerscough, president, BADC: “Brisbane’s best advertising, design and production work will be recognised with 2019’s theme of ‘Sink or Swim – Only the best ideas will rise’ promising to increase the bar in creative from Brisbane’s advertising and creative talent pool.

“We’re also thrilled to welcome aboard video ad delivery gurus Peach as our new platinum sponsor this year. Peach has been through a period of strong growth and has great confidence in the strength of the Queensland market and we see them as a key strategic partner for the industry.”

Peach is radically simplifying video ad distribution and is enabling dynamic, real-time and relevant video advertising. Peach automates processes so video advertising can be sourced, checked, reformatted and delivered for TV broadcasters, online publishers and social media platforms in seconds. From the same online platform, users can track which media owners and broadcasters their ads have been sent to.

The company, which has Australian headquarters in Sydney and headed up by national sales director Andy Gilroy, with Lauren Yelavich (pictured above) as business development manager. Peach has seen turnover in Australia grow by 93% in the last two years. In August 2019, Peach delivered the majority (55%) of unique video ads to TV broadcasters in Australia.

Says Yelavich: “Following the success of our rebrand to Peach and with the growth we’re achieving, we see Brisbane as being a key market for us with the strength of the creative industry here. We’re excited to show our commitment to the industry and market with this sponsorship of the BADC.”

BADC’s Myerscough said that content production agency Light + Shade have been platinum sponsor for the last two years and will remain as a gold sponsor and also sponsor of the Exclusive After Party at The Warehouse.

Says Josh Zaini, Light + Shade: “Our platinum sponsorship and relationship with BADC has performed well for us over the past years. It’s had a really positive impact on our business growth and performance and we’re now wanting to maintain our support of BADC at gold level while letting someone else have a go reaping the benefits associated with the top tier.”

Stuart Myerscough has taken over BADC’s presidency from Garry Smith following his four-year reign over the club which was established in 1974.  Myerscough, who has long been a champion for creativity in Brisbane through various roles as a client, says he is excited by what the future holds for both the Club and the industry as a whole.

The BADC awards is Brisbane’s only creative advertising and design awards with over 600 people attending this year’s event.
