With many creatives in the world self isolating, Campaign Brief introduces a daily dose of inspiration – Best Ad of the Day – chosen from the many submissions to our global creative site, Bestads.
As professional competition slowly returns around the world, Nike remind us of the feeling of fandom. The thrill of experiencing disbelief, with all its reawakening power. And, more over, the joy of collective celebration. “Never Too Far Down,” a film narrated by LeBron James, will air during Tiger Woods’ return to the golf course. It extends Nike’s “You Can’t Stop Us” campaign. Agency: Wieden + Kennedy Portland.

What would they (Not just Nike but most US brands) do without big stars big tracks and big budgets? Because honestly that’s all American advertising seems to do.
With very few exception their go to approach is borrowed equity.
Even when Tourism Australia did that campaign for the US: celebrities, known equity. I think it’s ok. And if that’s their thing that’s their thing.
But if you ever question how good we in New Zealand or Australia are: our ingenuity and resourcefulness, our pure creativity, we do it all without these weapons.
We’re pretty good.
Hey, but nice ad Nike
I do agree with you although they’re kind of obliged to use these assets (athletes).
But I think that rhetoric is a bit boring now. They could do it differently.
I think that’s possible. E.g. Nothing beats a Londoner.

It’s just a bit obvious, isn’t it?
