Aussie director Ben Dean joins DIVISION for representation in Australia, NZ and APAC

Ben Dean has signed with DIVISION just as his stunning spot for ‘Dr. Dre x Flipper’s Roller Boogie’ has dropped.

The high-octane heist-film follows ace roller-skating thieves nabbing skates from a guarded transport vehicle. The skaters make quick work of their pursuers via maze-like streets, back alleys, flying down highways, crashing through buildings and narrowly escaping their pursuers.

The short ends with a cameo from Dr. Dre himself, dishing famous threats if his skates aren’t ultimately returned. Dean decided to commit to a raw, unfiltered camera movement and style to help convey the pace and suspense of the heist.

The new release is emblematic of Dean’s unique visual style: vital, brazen choreography alongside bold, cinematic camerawork.

With over 10 years of experience working as a creative in the US and winning a bunch of awards, Dean made the decisive move from CD to director. His understanding of the process is key to his exceptional performance as a director – the ability to both deliver exciting films whilst elevating the status and communication of brands.

Dean has made his name directing music videos, short films and commercials for top culture brands such as Nike and Converse, earning many renowned accolades for his work.
