Aruga appoints Tracy Llewelyn to newly created role of agency director (ANZ)

Integrated Trans-Tasman communications agency Aruga has flipped the lid on the appointment of a new role, announcing Tracy Llewelyn has joined the firm this week as its inaugural agency director.

Llewelyn is a passionate PR and communications professional with almost 20 years in the industry working across both agency and in-house roles.

Says Llewelyn: “I’m so excited to join the incredibly talented team at Aruga and help them on their journey to become Australia’s most culturally connected creative marketing and communications agency.

“I am looking forward to bringing a fresh perspective and contributing to the ongoing success of the exceptional leadership of Co-Founders Donna Kramer and Adam Brunes who have grown Aruga to its current strength over the past five years.

“I am humbled by the opportunity and the trust instilled in me by Adam and Donna and truly believe in their vision to continue to grow the creative strength of the agency, while being the most rewarding place to come and work for all team members.”

Llewelyn commenced her career in PR agencies working across a wide range of consumer clients and campaigns across Australia. She makes a return to agency after having worked the past 10 years as head of communications for publicly listed franchise Domino’s, leading a team of 20 professionals across PR, media, social media and the company’s registered charity, Give for Good, working with charity partners including Lifeline, Rural Aid, Orange Sky and the Smith Family.

Aruga, co-founder, Donna Kramer, who has previously worked with Llewelyn and known her for more than 15 years, said Llewelyn’s appointment would strengthen Aruga’s full-service integrated offering for clients and bolster team members’ mentoring and coaching.

Says Kramer: “Tracy has extensive experience developing and leading teams across both in-house and agency roles. Our team members and our clients are set to benefit from Tracy’s creativity, talent and her ability to deliver creative and practical solutions, drive growth and nurture and champion emerging talent.

“Tracy is an inspirational leader of people and brings with her incredible experience at what is an exciting time of growth for Aruga.”

Founded in 2017, the award-winning agency continues to grow from strength to strength with an impressive client list spanning Supercheap Auto, Tourism & Events Queensland, Brisbane Economic Development Agency, Brisbane Festival, Orange Sky, Brisbane Airport Corporation, Hipcamp, Brisbane Powerhouse and Opera Queensland.

Llewelyn’s remit will also include the New Zealand office, team members and clients as they continue to drive the Trans-Tasman PR agency offering through Aruga Aotearoa.

Llewelyn commences in the role on 30 January and will be based at Aruga’s homebase in Brisbane.
