Australian Animation and Visual Effects studio, Resin has taken an existing storybook and brought it to life to create a “modern day pop-up book”.
They have used 3d animation and augmented reality to achieve this. A key feature for people who already own the book is the app will work with any copy of the book as it recognises artwork from the book and isn’t reliant on reading QR codes like a lot of other AR products. The app also works with all the features for people without the book and is narrated so children who cannot read can experience the story independently. The app is complete and ready to launch in August 2013.
