Andrew Thornton returns as Australian Marketing Institute board chair

The Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) board of directors has elected Andrew Thornton as the new chair of the board.

Thornton succeeds Lynda Cavalera, who steps down after three years as chair. Maria De Conno has been elected as deputy chair.

Thornton said he was honoured to take on the responsibility: “It is an honour to be elected as the new chairperson of the AMI board. This is my second time as chair and it is a privilege to take on this role again.

“I look forward to working closely with the board of directors so we can continue to progress the careers of our members.”

Thornton previously served as chair from 2016 to 2019, before becoming deputy chair. He has been executive director at Bridge Street Consulting since 2008 and is a non-executive director at Fishburners.

John Kim, Paul Nicolaou, John Clay, Nick Kariotoglou and Narendra Prasad (company secretary) will return to the board. AMI will also welcome Chris Taylor, Maria De Conno, Bronwyn Powell, Louise Cummins and Simon Cheng as newly appointed directors.
