London Agency announces partnership with Professor the Hon. Greg Hunt

Medical and Health Sector communications firm London Agency has announced that it has signed an agreement with former Australian Health and Aged Care Minister, Professor the Hon. Greg Hunt, to serve the Agency in the role of Strategic Counsel.

Professor Hunt (pictured above), who led Australia’s federal response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, is a highly experienced former Cabinet Minister in the Australian Government, having served as Australia’s Minister for the Environment, Innovation and Health across three major portfolios over almost nine years.

Following his retirement from politics, Professor Hunt has stayed in the business and medical fields, serving as Honorary Enterprise Professor in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Services and the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Melbourne. In addition he is also Honorary Professor of Practice at University College of London’s Global Business School for Health.

Professor Hunt also serves as the inaugural Chair of the Advisory Council for the Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health at Monash University.

As Minister for Health from 2017 to 2022, he oversaw Australia’s response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, established telehealth as a permanent and universal centrepiece of Medicare, reformed private health and established long-term plans for mental health, aged care, medical research and primary care and listed over 2,000 new and amended medicines for public access.

Professor Hunt was awarded the 2020 McKinnon Prize in Political Leadership for his “courageous and collaborative approach to spearheading Australia’s strong health response to the COVID-19 pandemic.”

In addition he was named the Inaugural Best Minister in the World at the 2016 World Government Summit for his work in the Environment.

The agreement will see Professor Hunt provide expert insight to London Agency and its clients on the future of healthcare and strategic priorities for the medical sector.

This strategic partnership will also support Professor Hunt as he continues to advise a wide range of businesses and not for profits in the areas of innovation, leadership, strategic planning, health and the environment.

Managing Director of London Agency, John Emmerson, says Professor Hunt’s insight would continue to prove invaluable to the medical community: “Professor Hunt’s political career is responsible for some of the most significant reform to the Australian healthcare sector. His experience gives him a perspective that only a former Health Minister can have.

“Working with London Agency, he will provide strategic guidance to clients to anticipate and evaluate global policy trends and shape narratives that align with both emerging policies and commercial health megatrends. We look forward to working with him for the betterment of not only Australian, but global healthcare.”

Professor Hunt welcomed the opportunity to continue to provide strategic insight to the Australian medical community: “I’m privileged to not only observe the evolving future of global healthcare through my academic and philanthropic roles but to also engage with the private sector as it contributes to medical innovation and the emergence of new drugs, devices and technologies which can help save lives and protect lives.

“I look forward to working with the Agency to help improve outcomes for Australian patients and Australian companies on a global stage.”
